Callista Okoro is an EdD Doctoral Candidate at Texas A&M University-Commerce, Texas, USA. Her area of specialization is in Educational Leadership with Superintendency. Callista has taught public schools for about fifteen years and she is currently a K-12 public educator in the state of Maryland, USA where she passionately teaches English for Speakers of Other Languages, and serves as Departmental Chairperson. Callista obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics and Education from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. She also holds double Master’s degrees in Communication and Language Arts from University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and in Educational Administration from University of North Texas in Denton. She is presently working on her dissertation with research topic on Perception of School Administrators in Identification of Students with Learning Disabilities in Eastern Nigerian School System. Callista’s experiences include school administration and leadership while serving as both principal and superintendent interns; acquiring experiences in public school governance. Callista plans to advance to full administration while working on school proprietorship to serve students with learning disabilities as a long term goal.
