Dr. Adefunke Ekine is currently the Deputy Director (Research and Innovation) at Tai Solarin University of Education, Nigeria, a position she has held for four years alongside her teaching activities in the Childhood Education Unit. She was appointed as an advisory director for Gritwel Early childhood Limited in 2014. She also serves as a research consultant on child development and education for Gritwel Research & Technology Center, The Netherlands.
Dr.Adefunke is a fellow, Echidna Global Scholars (2013), and was recently named among the top Lo SpaziodellaPolitica (LSDP) 100 Global Thinkers for 2013 by a global personality assessment organization, Lo SpaziodellaPolitica (LSDP), due to her expertise of teaching and directing schools in Africa; in particular for the promotion of Science among female students.
She serves as the country liaison for the Association of Childhood Education International (ACEI) and was the state president of Organization Mondiale Pour L’EducationPrescolaire (OMEP) for eight years, an international organization that caters for the well-being of children 0-8 years old. She was nominated an Exceptional Master Leader in 2015 by Exchange leadership Institute. She holds PhD and Masters in Early Childhood Education from the University of Ibadan.
